Finance Officer

Salary: £25,000 to £27,000 (Pro Rata) 

Hours: 28 hours per week (part-time)

Location: Hybrid (flexible working, but must be available to work from the Manchester office as needed)

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monthly Accounts & Budgets: Prepare monthly accounts and assist with budgeting processes.
  • Payroll Management: Handle payroll, including starters/leavers, processing salaries, pension, tax, and National Insurance payments.
  • Sickness & Leave Records: Administer records related to sickness and leave.
  • Bookkeeping: Process sales invoices, purchase invoices, bank payments/receipts, and perform bank reconciliations.
  • Income Reconciliation: Ensure income in the accounts matches underlying records.
  • Customer & Supplier Relations: Deal with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders, including credit control.
  • HMRC Returns: Submit necessary returns to HMRC (PAYE, NIC, Gift Aid).
  • Direct Debit & Reports: Input and verify details from reports, ensuring compliance with direct debit schemes.
  • Financial Policies: Assist in documenting and improving financial policies and procedures.
  • Environmental Impact: Work towards minimizing the environmental impact in the workplace.
  • Additional Duties: Carry out other duties as required, consistent with the post's grade.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, customers, and external stakeholders.

This role requires someone who is organized, meticulous with numbers, and able to manage multiple tasks while ensuring the smooth running of the financial processes. It's a part-time opportunity with flexible working arrangements but still requires presence in the central office.
