Our client, a reputable electrical and mechanical engineering contractor with over 30 years of experience, is seeking a skilled Electrical Estimator to join their expanding team. They specialise in a range of services, including lighting, heating, air-conditioning, ventilation, plumbing, power, communications, security and more.
With a strong track record in private and public sectors, they offer comprehensive turn-key solutionsfrom concept and design to procurement, project management, installation, commissioning, handover, and ongoing maintenance.
As an Electrical Estimator, you will become part of a busy and expanding team playing a crucial role in assessing the approximate costs of various electrical installations on industrial and commercial projects. Your responsibilities will include estimating project durations, researching material and equipment costs, and working closely with clients to define project scopes. This role is ideal for someone with experience in business development and sales, ideally within the mechanical and electrical engineering industry.

The Role:
- Assist in the preparation and submission of competitive tenders, estimates, and quotations.
- Determine the quantity, type, and cost of materials and fixtures needed for each electrical project.
- Assess the required labor for project completion.
- Prepare take-offs from tender documents.
- Evaluate project profitability to support informed bidding decisions by management.
- Submit competitive project bids in line with established guidelines.
- Utilise specialized tender software to ensure accurate submissions.
- Collaborate with clients, architects, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
- Work effectively under pressure to ensure timely and accurate tender submissions.
- Ensure smooth handover of the project to the site team.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:
- Engineering qualification or equivalent experience
- Experience in tendering for O&M contracts and private networks
- Proven ability to establish strategic and operational partnerships
- Extensive experience handling complex and sensitive business/commercial information confidentially
- Track record of delivering successful tenders
- Demonstrated experience in project management and process improvement
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and basic computing tasks
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
