Our client is a trusted partner of the UK Ministry of Defence, and they are currently looking for an experienced General Operator - Soldering/Microelectronics to perform manufacturing and self-certification duties, as well as sub-assembly components. This is an excellent opportunity to join the leaders in missile and defence and grow within their innovative initiatives.
The chosen candidate will create certification procedures, set workmanship standards, and manage budgets and timelines to achieve project goals.
What we're looking for:

- Strong attention to detail.
- Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Completed ESD training.
Additional skills:
- PC literate.
- Basic Microsoft Skills
- Microelectronics experience
- Experience soldering under a microscope
Tentatively work across several departments, these might include:
1. Looming: binding wire looming is a cable assembly that efficiently distributes electrical signals by linking cables together using a crimping tool. (Ex; wiring, root wiring, and fibre optics cabling),
2. PEC and CCA Assembly
3. Plastics Department (Ex; applying glues, cutting out intricate patterns, and moulding).
4. Manufacturing Control/ Stores (Kitting, SAP, Picking goods inwards).
5. Must be comfortable working under a microscope for most of the work.
What you'll get to do as a General Operator (FA) - Soldering/Microelectronics:
The tasks involve executing precise assembly and manufacturing activities in accordance with established procedures, quality standards, safety protocols, and deadlines. Additionally, it is essential to facilitate the efficient flow of work and information within the manufacturing area. Consistent adherence to agreed-upon standards and behaviour's in all activities is required, along with compliance with all health and safety requirements. IPC 610 certification or training is preferred for this role.
Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship
Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by our clients Security Team.
