Focus 5 Recruitment are looking to recruit a Head of Social Media for an award winning, leading (yes really! - they’ve loads of awards and absolutely are a leader in their market) Marketing Communications Agency in Manchester. This is one of the most exciting agency leadership roles we’ve worked on and is an amazing opportunity to have a significant impact on the strategic direction of the agency and play a pivotal role in its growth and continued success.

We’re looking for a commercial leader experienced in delivering strategic and creative social media campaigns for top tier clients. An industry leader, seen as a go to by clients for all things social media related. As Head of Social, you will take overall responsibility for an existing team of social media specialists, financials and forecasting, achieving growth targets based on nurturing existing client relationships. You will have a passion for social media and social content, building and implementing strategies that will grow audiences and revenues across Facebook, Snapchat, YouTube, X (Twitter), Instagram and TikTok for leading B2C household brands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Based from their Manchester office you will report into the MD and work alongside other Divisional Heads whilst supporting in the management of a team of Agency Execs.
  • Lead on a range of social campaigns ensuring key metrics and goals are achieved for clients with varying needs.
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders across key client organisations.
  • Work in a client lead role, fundamental to the success of client partnerships. You will play a pivotal role in the development and success of their client relationships and projects, through close collaboration at all times.
  • You will enjoy leading and managing a social media team, developing skills and motivating a creative team and ensuring their work aligns with account objectives and targets.
  • Understanding the commercial implications of agency decisions and external influences and manage the internal and client conversations arising from these, being well informed about the commercials of all projects you are responsible for.
  • Unlocking new opportunities for growth, focussed on the agency key capability sets.
  • Sit within the agency Senior Leadership team. Working closely with the Managing Director and CEO to build the business to the next level.
  • Attend senior leadership meetings and contribute to large-scale business decisions and projects
  • Represent the agency on a wider stage; attending events and speaking opportunities when appropriate.

 
Candidate Profile

  • 5 years + experience in Social Media Management in an agency setting
  • 3 years + experience in leadership role
  • Comprehensive understanding of Facebook, Snapchat, YouTube, X (Twitter), TikTok and Instagram
  • Strategic and smart but also operational – you will understand the vision for your accounts, your clients’ goals and objectives and know how to execute against it to drive growth.
  • A Clear Communicator - you will have a great communication style, as comfortable leading a workshop or pitching a proposal to senior leaders and mentoring internal members of the team in the basics of client services, everything you do will have clear outcomes, next steps and bring people on the journey with you.
  • The skills to analyse and understand a clients’ wider business objectives and steer multi-channel delivery to drive tangible and measurable growth
  • The ability to see the ‘bigger picture’ and help shape complex marketing strategies, aligned to clients’ ambitions
