The Company:

An exciting opportunity for a Merchandiser to join an established, Textiles company with an excellent reputation who offer training and progression opportunities.

You will work as an integral part of the Merchandise and Commercial Team, developing positive and professional working relationships with suppliers, work colleagues, customers and key internal stakeholders, assisting with strategy planning, selling a range of products that deliver sales and profit targets to the business.

A good working knowledge of product life cycles, critical paths and meeting strict deadlines are key to performing in this role.

Duties Include:

  • Accurate forecasting of stock, within the designated product range, based on trend/ sales analysis - the merchandisers forecast bi-weekly using their own knowledge and analysis.
  • Monitoring of customer till sales, amendments to forecast estimates as and when required.
  • Targeting customer service levels to be met and recovery plans implemented where required.
  • Planning ahead, up to 6 months in advance when looking at fabric and other requirements.
  • Manage MOQ’s accordingly across the areas.
  • Agreeing new product launch estimates twice yearly with the Merchandise Manager.
  • Attending weekly critical path meetings with the technical team to ensure sealing is on track, and shipment requested for initial orders can be achieved.
  • As a Senior you would be required to support the merchandisers with all new product launch processes to ensure all processes are followed accurately.
  • Liaising with the logistics team to aid with the planning of intake/ distribution of newness.
  • Full website review of all products 4 weeks following launch.
  • Placing orders with the mill in a timely manner.
  • Regular communication with the supply base including on site/ teams’ meetings where required to maintain expected levels of service.
  • Management of the mills to ensure that all deliveries arrive at the specified time.
  • Completing monthly forward estimates for the mills production and managing fabric.
  • Keeping up to date with all customer reports, including stock availability reports.
  • Management of category/departmental reports.
  • Liaising with the technical department regarding product development, critical path of new lines, and continuity lines quality issues.
  • Supporting the Design team with sales analysis to help with decision making on new products within the tracker meetings and the seasonal gaps and opportunities process.
  • Supporting the operations team with forward forecasts, highlighting anything out of the norm, to aid labour planning.

Skills Required:

  • Proven strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Advanced excel skills, ability to manipulate data and build reports.
  • Knowledge of forecasting systems SAP / AGR equivalent.
  • Experience of professional development.
  • Experience leading team meetings.
  • To take part in development activities to support the duties of the post or enhance personal development.
  • Ability to establish, develop and maintain supplier and customer relationships with professionalism.
  • Established decision making skills with the ability to prioritise and manage workload accordingly.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment to quickly identify opportunities, problems and recommend solutions.
  • Capacity to adapt to changing priorities and demands.
