Role Overview:

We are looking for an experienced NOC Team Lead to oversee our 24/7 Network Operations Centre (NOC) and lead a team of NOC Engineers. This role will focus on managing day-to-day operations, driving process improvement, and acting as the primary escalation point within the NOC. The ideal candidate will have strong technical leadership, experience within an ISP, Telco, or Managed Services environment, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the NOC team and manage the 24/7 rota, ensuring effective coverage and team performance.
  • Line management for NOC Engineers, including conducting 1:1s, six-month reviews, professional development, and holiday/absence management.
  • Act as the escalation point for NOC engineers for both internal and external issues, working with suppliers and customers.
  • Analyse workflows, improve processes, and support the consolidation of monitoring systems to enhance efficiency.
  • Monitor and improve NOC team performance metrics such as response times, incident resolution, and KPI adherence.
  • Attend supplier service reviews and actively contribute to the incident management process, particularly during major incidents.
  • Lead post-incident reviews and implement improvements to the incident management process.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in a technical role within an ISP, Telco, or Managed Services environment.
  • Strong understanding of NOC operations and experience with network monitoring systems.
  • Previous experience leading a technical team, including providing structured feedback and managing performance.
  • Incident management experience, with the ability to lead during critical incidents.
  • Proactive and approachable, with excellent interpersonal and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical content to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset, with a genuine interest in continuous improvement and process enhancement.
