Programme Engagement Lead – Apprenticeships

The Role

They are seeking a proactive, organised, and impact-driven Programme Engagement Lead to drive the success of the University’s growing apprenticeship programmes. As a central figure in this team, you’ll lead collaboration with employers, apprentices, and internal teams to develop, deliver, and continuously improve their apprenticeship offerings. You’ll ensure these programmes are engaging, industry-relevant, and aligned with the needs of their learners and partners.

Key Responsibilities

Employer Collaboration and Engagement:

  • Partner with employers to design apprenticeship programmes that meet current and future skills requirements.
  • Support recruitment efforts through targeted strategies that ensure programme success.
  • Work with vendor partners to integrate the latest industry skills and technologies into their programmes.

Programme Development and Improvement:

  • Collaborate across teams to strategically develop and refine curriculum content for new apprenticeship programmes.
  • Ensure all apprenticeship programmes meet regulatory and industry standards while maintaining academic quality.
  • Use apprentice and employer feedback to continuously enhance the learning experience and ensure alignment with the University’s mission.

Project Management and Administration:

  • Lead new curriculum development projects from conception through to delivery, engaging stakeholders throughout the process.
  • Provide project management oversight to ensure timely completion, effective risk management, and alignment with objectives.
  • Generate regular reports on apprentice engagement, programme progress, and retention metrics.

Apprentice Engagement and Support:

  • Be a primary contact for apprentices, providing support to enhance their learning and address their feedback.
  • Champion initiatives that promote apprentice engagement, satisfaction, and equitable access to opportunities.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential:

  • Experience in programme management, engagement, or support roles, ideally within higher education, apprenticeships, or similar fields.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with apprentices, employers, and colleagues.
  • Knowledge of the UK apprenticeship landscape.

Desirable:

  • Experience working with diverse groups and a commitment to inclusive education practices.
  • Relevant qualification in education, training, or programme management (e.g., PGCE, Level 4/5 in Education and Training).
