SRG are working with a well-established company who specialise in the manufacture of speciality inks and coatings for a range of industries. With a busy technical department, they are now looking for a new R&D Chemist to join the team at their site based in Greater Manchester. The role will primarily involve supporting in the Research & Development (R&D) of new and existing ink products, as well as research activities in areas such as colour, polymer formulation, colour matching and physical ink properties.

Role / Description
- Conducting research and development for new and existing formulated ink products
- Leading research activities in areas concerning colorant and polymer formulation, jetting, colour matching, ink physical properties (viscosity, surface tension, dynamic ST, etc.)
- Working to rapid deadlines with shifting priorities whilst producing high quality, accurate and reliable data, whilst maintaining sufficient records of work
- Supporting and leading process improvement projects across Research and Development
- Maintain technical expertise in the field of inks and coatings including new developments in processes and chemistry.
- Interact with internal departments to maximize their effectiveness and improve the technical knowledge base within the R&D group
- Interact with Tech Services, QC, Production, Marketing & other R&D teams as necessary to provide information, data and samples to the customer
Requirements
- Degree in Chemistry (or similar)
- Recent and proven industrial experience of formulating and developing inks/coatings
- Able to manage own projects and adapt to changing priorities
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently
