Role Overview:We are looking for a Senior Property Solicitor, Senior Associate, or Partner to head up and build the Real Estate team in our Manchester office. This key role involves leading a growing team. The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving the development of the department, managing a portfolio of clients, and mentoring junior solicitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Team Development:

    • Lead, manage, and grow the Property team in the Manchester office.
    • Mentor and support junior solicitors and trainees.
    • Develop and implement a strategy to expand the department, focusing on building relationships with clients and stakeholders in the Manchester market.
  • Client Management:

    • Manage and develop a varied property law caseload, advising clients on commercial property transactions, acquisitions, disposals, leases, and development matters.
    • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as the primary contact for key clients.
  • Cross-departmental Collaboration:

    • Provide property-related legal support to the Corporate and Insolvency teams.
    • Assist in property-related issues arising from corporate transactions, restructurings, and insolvency proceedings.
  • Business Development:

    • Actively contribute to the growth of the Property team through networking, business development, and client acquisition.
    • Represent the firm at industry events, seminars, and networking opportunities in the Manchester market and beyond.

Key Requirements:

  • Qualified Solicitor (preferably with 5+ years PQE) with strong expertise in Real Estate law.
  • Previous experience in managing a team or department, ideally within a law firm or in a senior position.
  • Proven track record in building and developing a property department or team, with a strong focus on client relationship management.
  • Experience in advising on commercial property matters, including development, leasing, acquisitions, and disposals.
  • A collaborative and strategic approach to working with other departments, particularly Corporate and Insolvency.
  • Strong business development skills and a proactive approach to growing a practice.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
