Job Title: Technician

Location: Manchester, M30 7RF – field based role – will spend approx. 50% of time working away & will need to work two weekends per month

Salary - £30,000 – plus £15,000-£20,000 overtime

Hours – 40 hours per week plus overtime

Reports to: Installation Manager (IM) and Assistant Installation Manager (AIM)

Primary Responsibility:

Cabling and installing Medical Systems (e.g., Radiotherapy Systems, MRI, CT Scanners) across the UK and occasionally Europe. When not installing medical systems, support other Technician tasks in the Service & Installation Department, including delivery, offloading, and positioning of customer equipment.

Main Activities:

  • Deliver, position, and install high-value medical devices (CTs, MRIs, X-Ray systems).
  • Run system cables, make final connections, and install/align system covers.
  • Coordinate with project teams, third parties (e.g., crane operators), and clients for smooth project execution.
  • Perform general driving/delivery duties, load/unload vehicles, and handle equipment manually or with specialist tools.
  • Complete paperwork (e.g., delivery forms, timesheets).
  • Assist with Tech Centre tasks, prepare demo equipment (e.g., C-Arms, incubators), and undertake non-medical break-fix, service, and maintenance jobs.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Willingness to learn with mechanical/electrical installation experience.
  • Clean driving license and flexibility with hours (including staying away from home and working up to 2 weekends/month with overtime).
  • Ability to complete paperwork and use Microsoft Word/Excel.
  • Strong communication skills, customer-facing experience, and a collaborative yet independent work ethic.
  • Good general education.
