This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic, detail-oriented individual with a passion for science and supporting students to join a dedicated team. About the Role:

As a Science Technician, you will play a key role in supporting the science department and ensuring that all practical lessons run smoothly. You will work closely with teachers and students to prepare, maintain, and manage equipment and resources for science experiments across various subjects, including Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and setting up equipment for practical science lessons

  • Ensuring all equipment and materials are safely stored and regularly maintained

  • Assisting students and teachers during practical lessons and experiments

  • Ensuring health and safety guidelines are adhered to in the science labs

  • Ordering and maintaining stock of laboratory equipment and chemicals

  • Assisting in the preparation and delivery of displays, demonstrations, and other learning materials

  • Supporting the science teaching staff with administrative tasks and record keeping

  • Managing the cleaning and tidying of laboratories after lessons

About You:

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in science (either through formal qualifications or practical experience), who is organised, reliable, and passionate about supporting young people in their educational journey. You will have experience working with scientific equipment and an understanding of health and safety procedures in a lab environment.

To be considered for this role, you should possess:

  • A background in science (a qualification or relevant work experience)

  • Experience working in a school or laboratory environment (desired but not essential)

  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills

  • A good understanding of health and safety protocols in a scientific setting

  • The ability to communicate clearly and work well in a team

  • A proactive, flexible approach to your work
