Bolton Council is seeking 8 Neighbourhood Care Operatives to join our Neighbourhood Services Team. This role is crucial in maintaining a clean and healthy environment within specific neighbourhood areas of the borough. It involves assisting in all aspects of street cleansing and grounds maintenance. This temporary position is an excellent opportunity for enthusiastic and committed individuals who are ready to make a significant impact in their community.
Day-to-day of the role:- Work within cemeteries and open spaces throughout the borough, performing tasks such as strimming, mowing, and general grounds maintenance.
- Remove litter, empty litter bins, and undertake maintenance of shrub and flower beds as well as pedestrian grass cutting when required.
- Ensure all areas are kept clean and presentable, contributing to a pleasant community environment.
- Assist in various aspects of street cleansing and grounds maintenance across different neighbourhoods.
- Engage with the community, demonstrating excellent customer care skills.
- Must be physically fit and able to undertake all aspects of the job as described.
- Ability to understand written and verbal communication and complete routine documentation.
- Excellent customer care skills, with flexibility to meet the needs of the service.
- Available to work overtime if required.
- An appropriate driving license is essential; a pre-1997 or LGV license would be advantageous.
