A rapidly expanding successful group that encompasses all aspects of the meat trade is recruiting order pickers/packers at our site in Irlam, Manchester to join our day and night shifts.

Our business, which is a catering butcher, has over 100 years' experience in the meat and farming industries. All products are prepared in the factory daily to each customer's specifications, packaged and labelled to and above legislation, and then delivered directly throughout the UK.

About the Role

The main responsibilities of this order picker/packer role are:

  • Picking and collating orders from customer order sheets efficiently and within required targets.
  • Packing meat using the vacuum packing machine and applying date and traceability labels to products.
  • Accurately recording weights, volume outputs and information onto the customer order sheets.
  • Following company policies, procedures, and standards in the Company Quality System, including personal hygiene and food safety regulations.
  • Reporting and helping the relevant management concerning quality issues.

Additional Information
  • Shifts are weekdays working 10:00-19:00 or 07.00-19.00, and/or weekends working Saturday 07:00-13:00 midday, and Sunday starting at 08:00, 09:00, or 10:00 until 19:00 or 20:00, or a combination of weekdays and weekends can be accommodated.
  • Night shifts are Monday to Friday, 20:00-06:00.
  • These are permanent roles and offer immediate starts.
Essential Skills

No formal qualifications are required for this order picker/packer role, and full training will be provided.

Desirable Skills
  • Experience working in a factory and order picking or packing experience would be advantageous but not essential as full training will be given.
  • You should have good numeracy and literacy skills and be able to work individually and as part of a team in a very busy environment.
  • You need to be able to work to tight deadlines.
