Manchester Adult Education Service is seeking a Curriculum Manager to lead and manage curriculum teams, delivering high-quality Further Education that aligns with national, local, and service priorities for work and skills. This role is pivotal in planning, implementing, and managing locally focused course provision to enhance skills and employment opportunities in the region.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Lead and manage curriculum teams, ensuring the delivery of a coordinated and responsive programme that meets the needs of residents and supports learners to achieve and progress.
  • Engage effectively with partner organisations, employers, community groups, and residents to tailor a learning and skills offer that meets community needs.
  • Provide leadership within the wider management team to ensure effective coordination of teams and programmes.
  • Oversee the quality of teaching, learning, and assessment, including self-assessment and moderation processes, to meet national quality standards and funding body requirements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with national bodies, other learning and skills providers, and stakeholders, representing the service on relevant local and national groups.
  • Manage and control budgets and expenditures, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and maximising efficiency.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • PGCE/Cert Ed or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Substantial, recent teaching experience.
  • Proven leadership and management skills, capable of motivating staff to achieve high performance.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis to inform curriculum planning and improvements.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively transferring complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Strategic thinking ability, with skills in planning, organising, and problem-solving in a high-pressure environment.
  • ICT proficiency to manage data integrity and accessibility.
  • Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS Check.
