Health and Safety Advisor

Irwin and Colton has been engaged on an exciting new opportunity with a very well renowned media organisation that are market-leading across the advertising space, to recruit a new Health and Safety Advisor. The role will be operating mainly across the printing and publication side to the business, with main printing sites in both Manchester and Glasgow, and will work closely with the project team, digital designers and logistics teams to ensure the products are produced safely. There will also be other projects to work on as well as the business provide services to major UK transportation providers, such as TFL and Metro Line. The role will report to the Head of SHEQ.

Responsibilities for the Health and Safety Advisor will include:

Working with the Senior Leadership Team to drive a more positive health and safety culture across the organisation
Working closely in conjunction with printing operators and engaging with staff across the sites, ensuring compliance is on a consistent basis
Ensuring safety protocol is implemented and managed in alignment to ISO-systems
Managing on the accurate and timely reporting on health and safety performance

The successful Health and Safety Advisor will have:

NEBOSH general certificate (or equivalent) and relevant membership of IOSH
Experience working with ISO-accreditations 45001, 14001, and 9001
Experience operating in a previous health and safety role
A pragmatic and solutions-focused outlook with the ability to spot efficiencies across the organisation

With regards to location, the sites are in Manchester and Glasgow - if the Health and Safety Advisor is based local to Manchester, they will be there 3 days per week (hybrid working pattern) with travel to Glasgow once every two weeks (vice-versa)
