My client within the Manufacturing industry are looking for a passionate and hardworking EHS Officer, to help achieve their Environmental goals.

My client will consider candidates from all sectors, aslong as you have the releveant skills and qualifications for the role. The role comes with hybrid working and a great working environment.

Main purpose of the role:

  • To advise and assist in management of environmental, health and safety responsibilities, providing the business with environmental advice and guidance, and ensuring legal compliance and that sustainable, safe working practices are followed.
  • Working as part of the HSE team, with a primary focus on environmental responsibilities but supporting continuous improvement in health and safety across the business.
  • Maintain ISO14001 accreditation and drive continuous environmental improvement, horizon scanning for environmental issues and how they could affect KDL
  • To provide sustainability and environmental information to customers, regulators and other interested parties, handling data requests and producing reports. Developing a life-cycle approach, including sustainable procurement and carbon foot-printing.

Key Duties:

  • To manage the environmental management system to ISO14001 standards
  • Conduct internal training on EHS topics and provide clear information to meet the requirements of ISO14001 and other best practice
  • To effectively communicate on environmental issues within the business
  • To monitor waste, energy, water and effluent releases, and identify opportunities for improvement
  • To support internal HSE Auditing including conducting audits and maintaining a program of periodic internal audits for ISO14001, recommending appropriate actions where required.
  • To conduct Duty of Care audits on relevant environmental suppliers (such as waste contractors) and maintain records
  • To respond to customer/regulator requests for information, and work to provide sustainability data, environmental data and other information in line with customer requirements.
  • Development of methods for carbon footprinting, and other work that affects supply chain
  • Collect and report data to maintain the existing site environmental permits
  • Maintain the environmental legal register to ensure my clientis complying with environmental legislation, and is aware of future changes and their implications for the business.
  • Communicate with customers as required, particularly with a view to generating more business with environmentally driven organisations
  • Supporting the HSE Manager to achieve compliance and good standards of health and safety.
  • Support maintaining health and safety records for training, accidents, risk assessments and similar.
  • Carrying out risk assessments. Identifying potential hazards and proposing ways of reducing risks.
  • Assisting local management with investigation of accidents, incidents and near misses.
  • Assisting the HSE Manager with health and safety policy implementation, including communicating health and safety procedures, and ensuring that they are implemented.
  • Supporting the implementation of ISO 45001 to help drive continuous improvement in health and safety.
  • To liaise with suppliers on any environmental matters relating to the supply of wine
  • To develop good working relationships with all departments to ensure the needs of ISO14001 and the wider environmental programme are met
  • To ensure all documentation and records are maintained to high standards on a daily basis in accordance with ISO14001: 2015
  • When applicable, to host customer and third-party external audits on site.
  • Recommend and implement new accreditations where necessary
  • To identify and recommend continuous improvement opportunities with regard to the environment.
  • Undertake Project work as required
  • Undertake any other duties which may be deemed necessary by the needs of the business
