Wellbeing and Occupational Health Senior Advisor

  • Working Arrangement: Hybrid, 2-3 days in-office/onsite 

GMCA are seeking a Wellbeing and Occupational Health Senior Advisor to provide professional support and advice on all matters relating to workplace wellbeing, occupational health, and neurodiversity in a Business Partnering capacity. This role involves developing, implementing, and actively supporting with the implementation of their corporate health and safety requirements as outlined in the Wellbeing and Occupational Health Strategy and framework.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Support colleagues with reasonable adjustments for short or long-term needs impacting health or wellbeing while at work.
  • Develop pathways, toolkits, and peer support networks to improve wellbeing across GMCA, including mental, physical, and neurological support in line with role risk profiles and campaigns calendar.
  • Support managers with assessment tools and reports, providing recommendations that support individuals, minimise presenteeism, and prevent absence.
  • Develop and present training aids to promote high levels of awareness and support positive wellbeing and health.
  • Undertake performance monitoring and audits of contracted services, addressing any issues of poor or unplanned performance.
  • Handle Employers Liability Claims EL/PL claims and ill-health retirements on behalf of GMCA and GMFRS.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Level 5 qualification in a related discipline or qualified by experience of working in roles that relate to this role e.g., Wellbeing, Occupational health and/or neurodiversity in a workplace
  • Experience of preparing and presenting training virtually and face to face
  • Extensive knowledge of the Legislation relating to Occupational Health, in particular the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and the provision of the Equality Act 2010.
