Our client is a progressive and expanding organisation dedicated to maintaining exemplary standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance. They

are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Health, Safety, and Environmental Manager to join our team, supporting the Group Health and Safety Manager in cultivating a strong safety culture across all our sites.

Role Overview:

In this key role, you will champion the health, safety, and well-being of our employees, contractors, and visitors. You will offer expert guidance, carry out audits, and assist in crafting and executing health and safety strategies aligned with company policies and legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Group Health and Safety Manager to develop and implement health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Conduct risk assessments, audits, and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents, producing detailed reports with recommendations for preventative actions.
  • Deliver training sessions and toolbox talks to improve health and safety awareness.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and industry best practices.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports for internal management and external authorities.
  • Work closely with site teams to address and resolve safety concerns swiftly.
  • Review and monitor the effectiveness of safety initiatives and programs.
  • Assist in compiling group standards for safety and environmental compliance, and report on agreed KPIs.
  • Liaise with insurers on claims related to workplace incidents.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
  • Essential: NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • Membership with IOSH or an equivalent professional body (preferred).
  • Proven experience in a Health and Safety Manager role, preferably in manufacturing, logistics, or industrial settings.
  • Strong understanding of UK health and safety legislation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and health and safety software.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
