Bury Council are looking for a skilled Multi-Skilled Plumber for a temporary full-time position lasting 4 - 5 months. This role involves carrying out a wide range of plumbing and multi-skilled tasks related to repairs, maintenance, and refurbishment of council homes, public buildings, and other properties managed by Bury Council.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Perform all aspects of multi-skilled plumbing work including responsive and planned repairs, empty homes reinstatement, disrepair, damp, and capital investment projects.
  • Undertake multi-skilled repairs as per the multi-skilling agreement and relevant qualifications.
  • Operate and maintain all issued plant and equipment in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions and safety guidelines.
  • Use IT systems (PDA’s or iPad) provided to update and maintain accurate documentation in real time.
  • Re-use part-used materials and dispose of waste according to recycling and sorting requirements.
  • Conduct diagnostic assessments of tenant-reported repairs, providing detailed information to planners for effective action and repair completion.
  • Ensure that vehicles provided are parked, driven considerately, kept secure, alarmed, and clean.
  • Additional skills in patch plastering, tiling, and minor joinery works are advantageous.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in plumbing and multi-skilled repairs, preferably within social housing.
  • Ability to operate various IT systems for documentation and record-keeping.
  • Competence in using power tools and maintaining equipment as per safety standards.
  • Must be a driver with a clean license; a vehicle will be provided.
  • Skills in patch plastering, tiling, and minor joinery works are highly desirable.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing
  • Must have a Valid UK Driving Licence
