Now Education are working in partnership with Manchester College who require some additional staff to join their lecturing team. Interviews will be taking place asap at the college, followed by a swift start date. The role is Monday - Friday 8.30am-4pm at 32 per hour.

Job Description:
The College are seeking a passionate and experienced Engineering Lecturer to join theirdynamic team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in engineering and a proven track record in hands-on workshop experience. This role offers the chance to inspire and develop the skills of future engineers through innovative teaching methods, practical demonstrations, and theoretical knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and high-quality lectures and practical sessions to students on a variety of engineering topics.
  • Provide practical, workshop-based instruction, ensuring students gain hands-on experience in areas such as manufacturing, mechanical, and electrical engineering.
  • Develop and update curriculum materials to ensure relevance to industry standards and innovations.
  • Assess and provide feedback on student progress, offering tailored support where necessary.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment that encourages critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop new teaching strategies, projects, and learning initiatives.
  • Stay up to date with the latest developments in the engineering field and incorporate these into teaching practice.

Essential Criteria:

  • A degree (or equivalent) in Engineering or a related field.
  • Significant hands-on experience working in an engineering workshop environment.
  • Teaching experience, ideally within a further or higher education setting (though training will be provided for the right candidate).
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • Commitment to student success and a passion for sharing industry knowledge.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of current engineering practices and technology.

Desirable:

  • A teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent) or willingness to work towards one.
  • Experience working in a further education setting or with young people aged 16+.
