EYFS & KS1 Teaching Assistant

Location: Manchester (M19)

 

Start time: Immediate

Contract: Part-time/Full-time

 

Do you have experience working with children in EYFS through to Year 2 and have a desire to make a meaningful impact in the classroom?

 

If so, GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school in Manchester. This role is perfect for an individual with experience in EYFS and KS1 who is adaptable across key stages as this is a split role. 

 

About the Role:

 

As a Teaching Assistant (TA), you will play a vital role in assisting teachers with classroom activities, supporting pupils with their learning and ensuring a positive and inclusive educational experience. You will work closely with students, helping them develop their confidence and achieve their full potential.

 

Responsibilities of the Teaching Assistant (TA):

 

Assist teachers in delivering engaging and interactive lessons tailored to EYFS and KS1.

Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils, including those with additional learning needs.

Help manage classroom behaviour, ensuring a structured and positive learning environment.

Assist with lesson planning, resource preparation and classroom organisation.

Support students' emotional and social development through encouragement and guidance.

Monitor and record student progress, liaising with teaching staff and SEN coordinators when necessary.

Requirements of the Teaching Assistant (TA):

 

Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar educational support role with EYFS and KS1.

Knowledge of the curriculum and effective teaching support strategies.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students and staff.

Patience, empathy and an understanding of how to support children’s individual needs.

A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant Certificate) is desirable but not essential.

Commitment to professional development and the ability to adapt to new teaching techniques and practices.

Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies.

Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
