As written by him…

"Hi Potential Carer! I have completed my degree in American studies and from September will be undertaking a Masters in Film Studies. I have Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, which is a genetic condition causing muscle weakness in all my muscles. It also causes tightness in certain muscles which means I need to have daily physio exercises once a day.

As my carer your main challenge if you choose to accept it is to keep me alive, anything else after that is a bonus. Despite what they may tell you, being my carer isn’t really that difficult I just need help with every single aspect of my life, oh wait that does sound rather difficult doesn’t it!

During the weekend, I like to go to gigs or concerts, museums or art galleries and the cinema. Often this will be with friends or just with you as my Carer. I also enjoy shopping for new LPs and books.

As my carer you would need to be someone who doesn’t take things too seriously, otherwise personal care elements may be a bit awkward. You must have a good sense of humour, so grumpy people stop reading now! You will also need to listen to me and respect my privacy, you do not need to be around me constantly so you will have plenty of time for watching TV."
