Are you a passionate HR Assistant / Generalist, with a keen interest in L&D? 

I'm currently recruiting for the above role for a Manufacturing business based in Irlam. FMCG experience would be advantageous! Hybrid working, two days from home and three in the office.

Reporting to the HR Manager this role will assist the management team in all aspects of HR and in issues relating to organisational development processes which enable the meeting of company objectives.

Accountabilities: 

  • Identify training and development needs through job analysis, appraisal schemes and regular consultation with departmental managers and HR and form training plans.
  • Co-ordinating L&D Activities across the business
  • Cost savings using apprenticeship levy and current training plans / Co-ordination and reporting of L&D spend
  • Review current spend and if courses can be brought in house
  • Working collaboratively on the introduction of a new approach to regular Training Needs
  • Analysis activity and monitor the implementation of the training Plan and overall learning & development activity.
  • Managing the prioritisation process for training needs and translate these into training plans at
  • both an organisational-wide and local level.
  • Maintenance and development of effective personnel administration and control procedures in order to provide timely and accurate Management information.
  • Working closely with line managers, assisting them to understand and implement policies and procedures and employment legislation changes.
  • Issuing or updating policies to reflect organisational approach or legislative changes. Liaising with legal advisors where necessary.
  • Promoting equality and diversity as part of the culture of the organisation, to include monthly communications, induction training.
  • Recruiting staff - developing job descriptions and person specifications, preparing advertisements, checking application forms, shortlisting, interviewing and selecting candidates. Full employee life cycle.
  • Identify training and development needs through job analysis, appraisal schemes and regular consultation with departmental managers and HR and form training plans.
  • Support and Maintain the Ethical & Sedex audits with the HR Officer & HR Manager
  • Ensuring the continuous achievement of IIP standards in line with our already gained IIP accreditation.

Education & Skills:

  • CIPD qualified.
  • Experience within a Manufacturing HR department, FMCG advantageous.
  • Experience of working with unions.
  • Excellent Literacy and Numeracy (English/Maths GCE/GCSE ‘C’ Equivalent).
  • Excellent Word Processing Skills and proficiency in Excel.
  • Strong Communications skills as the Job Holder will be required to communicate at all levels within and outwith the business.
  • Well organised and methodical to cope with the differing management disciplines.
  • Positive and flexible attitude as the Job Holder will be required to undertake a variety of jobs.
