We are seeking an HR Manager to join a leading construction company based in the Trafford area. This role involves managing the end-to-end employee lifecycle, developing HR strategies aligned with business objectives, and ensuring legal compliance in human resource management. The successful candidate will play a key role in nurturing a positive working environment and enhancing employee relations.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives that align with the overall business strategy.
  • Manage the integration process for new starters, including issuing offer letters, contracts of employment, and introducing organisational culture.
  • Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation, and retention of staff.
  • Continuously monitor and review HR policies and processes, implementing necessary changes.
  • Manage complex employee relations casework including dispute resolutions, disciplinary actions, grievances, absence, retirement, and redundancy.
  • Oversee the payroll systems, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Collaborate with Health & Safety to address training needs.
  • Provide advice to managers on terms and conditions of employment and share best practices.
  • Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management.
  • Develop programmes to enhance employee relations and offer employee support.
  • Assist in managing salary and benefits rewards.
  • Monitor employee performance and contribute to decision-making processes.
  • Manage talent and succession planning.
  • Participate in the implementation of specific projects, procedures, and guidelines to align the workforce with the strategic goals of the organisation.
  • Support change management processes.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an HR Manager or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of the construction industry is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of HR policies, systems, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in HR software and tools.
  • Relevant degree in Human Resources or related field.
