The RoleThe role of the Employment Support officer is to support Southway Housing Trust tenants and customers across our communities who are seeking work or self-development, to access employment, training and other related opportunities.

Manage a personal caseload of customers, being the single point of contact as well as mentor and coach, to remove barriers to education, training or employment, and support customers to achieve these outcomes.

Work with partners and employers to create opportunities for customers to gain employment and training. Deliver both 121, group sessions and events around employability, employer engagement and confidence building.

CandidatesAn exciting opportunity has arisen in the Employment and Skills team for an Employment Support Officer and for the right person we offer a 35-hour week, competitive salary, excellent contributory pension scheme, and 25 days holiday increasing to 30 days.

Our ideal candidate will have:* Experience of managing a personal caseload of participants, whilst being the single point of contact, mentor and coach. * The ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders, as well as the ability to work with autonomy and working as part of a team. * The ability to interact with a variety of audiences and adapt communication styles * The ability to evaluate strengths and needs of customers and create an effective strength-based action plan * Experience of providing one to one employment support* Experience of working in partnership with statutory and non- statutory agencies * A working knowledge of careers advice and benefits to support customers * Excellent communication skills
