Position: Regional HR Advisor - Employee Relations Specialist

Salary: £35,000 plus £5,000 car allowance

Location: Remote (with some travel)

What's the background?

We're helping recruit 2 x ER Advisors for one of the UK's most successful and leading private healthcare providers, recognised for their commitment to service excellence, ethical practices, and their people-first culture.

One role is to cover the North region which includes 10 hospitals across the North West, Yorkshire and the North East. The other role is to cover the Midlands & South West, which includes 14 hospitals across the East and West Midlands down to Cornwall.

These are remote-based positions but there will be some travel involved although this isn't excessive and you manage your own diary so can work things to suit your schedule.

Responsibilities:

Naturally with these being Employee Relations specialist positions the remit of the job is to effectively manage all casework end-to-end. You will support line managers and employees in your region by providing a trusting and reliable service, offering guidance and advice that is compliant with UK employment law. You will be expected to handle around 15-20 cases per week on average.

You will sit within a large, wider HR function and will have regular communication with the HR Business Partners to ensure transparency and alignment of what is happening within your region.

As a Regional ER Advisor, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Employee Relations: Providing expert guidance and support to managers on ER matters, including disciplinaries, grievances, absence management, and policy interpretation.
  • Proactive Engagement: Supporting the implementation of initiatives that promote employee engagement and wellbeing.
  • Policy and Compliance: Ensuring adherence to HR policies and employment law, contributing to a culture of fairness and consistency.
  • Training and Development: Coaching managers to enhance their confidence and competence in managing people issues.
  • Travel: Regularly visiting sites to foster meaningful connections and ensure you’re at the heart of the business. (Mileage is reclaimed at a company car rate)

Experience needed:

  • To succeed in this role, you’ll be someone who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-site environment and brings experience in managing complex employee relations issues.
  • Solid background in HR with a focus on employee relations, ideally in a regulated or service-driven sector.
  • A collaborative approach, excellent communication skills, and the ability to influence and coach managers.
  • Comfortable with travel within your region.
