We're seeking a skilled Node.js Engineer who can bring deep technical expertise to the team. Node.js is an under-represented skill within Barclays, so this role is crucial in shaping the future of the platform and supporting other developers on their journey.
Your Impact:
- Lead the development and design of Node.js solutions, applying industry best practices.
- Mentor and coach less-experienced colleagues, building their confidence and skills in Node.js development.
- Drive quality through modern testing techniques, including unit, integration, component, and contract testing.
What You'll Bring:
- Extensive experience with Node.js development and a solid understanding of best practices.
- A passion for coaching and supporting less experienced engineers in Node.js, helping to raise the overall skill level of the team.
- Strong knowledge of modern application testing methodologies (unit, integration, component, contract).
Nice to Have:
- Experience in financial services, with an understanding of industry-specific challenges and opportunities.
- Familiarity with Spotify Backstage or other developer portal frameworks.
