IT Helpdesk Lead (MSP) - Manchester - £37K DOE

An IT Helpdesk Lead with good hands-on technical knowledge, team lead experience ideally from an MSP environment is required by a well-established Microsoft Gold Partner in Manchester city centre.

Due to continued success with recent acquisitions and new contract wins, this award-winning MSP are now looking for a Helpdesk Lead to direct their main service desk, where you will be managing a team of 8 direct reports.

Responsibilities include:

  • Actively monitor managed queues to ensure timely ticket allocation and resolution.
  • Take responsibility for the professional growth and performance of direct reports, with regular 1-1s for team members.
  • Provide leadership and supervision to the service desk team.
  • Ensure engineers consistently update customers via the service desk platform or phone.
  • Ensure service desk engineers correctly identify new tasks and notify account managers.
  • Oversee service queues for direct reports and offer support when required.
  • Maintain adherence to SLA response times.

It will be highly beneficial if the ideal IT Helpdesk Lead has previous experience within IT Managed Services and hands-on experience implementing ITIL best practices.

The company is Microsoft-focused, working heavily with 365, Intune and Azure - with full funding for Microsoft certifications and salary uplifts for every exam passed. In addition, a clear progression path to a Service Desk Manager position.
