About the Role:

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Hard FM Technical Services Support Engineer to join a high-performing team based in Manchester. This permanent, full-time role plays a key part in the operational management and compliance of mechanical and electrical building services across the Manchester Town Hall Complex and various public buildings.

The role focuses on delivering efficient and compliant engineering services, guiding on-site teams, and ensuring the seamless operation of systems in line with customer expectations and statutory requirements.

What You'll Deliver:

  • Operational Oversight: Ensure engineering maintenance, including contract work, is completed to high standards, specifications, and with accurate documentation.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Work alongside the Technical Services Manager to support compliance with statutory and contractual obligations, particularly in relation to planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules.
  • Resource Management: Maximise the effective use of materials, plant, and equipment, continuously improving efficiency to meet service delivery targets.
  • Team Support & Development: Support the Engineering Supervisors and wider team in identifying training needs, setting objectives, and maintaining a strong health and safety culture aligned with organisational policies and values.
  • Customer-Focused Delivery: Maintain a high standard of service across all client-facing responsibilities, with an emphasis on responsiveness and satisfaction.
  • Project Integration: Assist with the integration of building engineering services within the 'Our Town Hall' refurbishment project, collaborating with the project team to ensure smooth transitions and alignment with timelines.
  • Asset Management: Contribute to the management of accurate, up-to-date asset records and ensure all systems are well maintained and compliant.

Key Objectives:

  • Drive continuous improvement across all engineering and maintenance functions.
  • Ensure all statutory and contractual standards are consistently met across managed sites.
  • Maintain a customer-first approach, prioritising service quality and client satisfaction.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and support large-scale projects and change initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Relevant qualifications such as City & Guilds, NVQ, or HNC in a mechanical or electrical discipline.
  • Background in Facilities Management or Energy / Zero Carbon
  • Proven experience supporting or delivering large-scale projects or change programmes.
  • Strong understanding of compliance, maintenance schedules, and asset management.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Adaptability and a proactive mindset with a strong commitment to innovation and team success.
