Infrastructure Engineer

As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will be critical in managing and enhancing our client's platform infrastructure, ensuring robust functionality across private and public cloud environments. You will bring your technical expertise to maintain infrastructure, including servers, storage, networks, and security solutions. We’re looking for someone resourceful and quick to adapt, with the technical expertise to safeguard the reliability and security of our systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver technical support for our data centre and cloud infrastructure, working closely with internal and external teams.
  • Oversee and administer network infrastructure across a diverse, geographically distributed environment.
  • Lead and contribute to project streams that drive infrastructure improvements and platform scalability.
  • Continuously monitor resource metrics, take proactive measures to address potential issues, and provide out-of-hours support on a rota basis.
  • Work alongside product and CI/CD teams to deliver solutions that leverage cloud-first technologies for our clients.
  • Provide advanced technical troubleshooting and serve as a primary escalation point for complex IT infrastructure issues.

Skills and Experience:

  • Solid experience in Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) within cloud ecosystems, especially in Microsoft Azure.
  • Strong knowledge of network security tools, such as Azure firewalling, Fortinet NGFWs, Cloudflare API Gateway, WAF, and DDoS protection.
  • Experience managing load-balanced web services and API endpoints within a Microsoft environment.
  • At least 3 years of experience in an infrastructure engineering role.
  • Relevant professional certifications in infrastructure, networking, or Azure (preferred but not essential).
You are:
  • Adept at solving complex technical challenges with a methodical approach.
  • Skilled in communication, working effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Highly adaptable and quick to learn new technologies and processes.
  • Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, staying organised and meeting deadlines.
