We are looking for a Signalling & Telecoms Engineer to join our team in the Northwest of England. You’ll have the opportunity to work on a number of exciting projects, playing a key role in driving improvement and ensuring the successful delivery of our telecommunications and signalling systems.
While experience in signalling is a plus, we also welcome candidates with backgrounds in wider communications technology, such as CCTV. Knowledge of cybersecurity and managing firewalls would be an added advantage but is not essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the asset management team to analyse and report on asset performance and condition, helping to improve operations through the implementation of renewals and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide technical support for the delivery of internal projects.
- Assist in complex root cause investigations, ensuring that solutions are found efficiently.
- Offer technical support to frontline maintainers, helping to resolve issues in real time.
- Engage effectively with stakeholders at Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) to ensure all contractual obligations are met to a high standard.
The Ideal Candidate:
- I.T-savvy, with a good understanding of modern telecommunications technology.
- Experience in signalling or broader communications technologies (CCTV, networking).
- Knowledge of cybersecurity and firewall management (desirable but not essential).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work well as part of a team and independently.
