The Purpose of the Role
As the Wholesale Product Manager, your primary purpose is to define a product's strategy, vision, and roadmap, ensuring it meets user needs, aligns with business goals, and is successfully developed and launched throughout its lifecycle. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, marketing, and sales, while gathering and analysing user feedback to guide product development decisions.

Core Responsibilities

  • Ownership of wholesale product description documents, including creation and updates.

  • Defining the key features, specifications, and requirements of the products.

  • Developing product roadmaps through insights from market research, competition analysis, and evaluation.

  • Establishing strategies for wholesale product pricing and positioning.

  • Managing the budgets of multi-disciplinary teams involved with product development.

  • Performing profit analysis and forecasting to develop or improve product marketing strategies.

  • Creating project timelines and implementation schedules across all functional areas.

  • Ensuring a successful product launch across key areas, especially sales and operations.

  • Staying ahead of and competing with the competition.

  • Developing marketing collateral, including battle cards for partners/retail.

  • Managing CPE requirements, procurement, and future-proofing (e.g., white box CPE, virtual functionality).

  • Overseeing product onboarding, including:

    • Processes and procedures.

    • Operational readiness.

    • Cross-functional team alignment.

    • System integration.

    • Testing.

    • Over-the-top services.

    • Managing network-to-network interfaces.

  • Defining product pricing.

  • Creating business cases in line with the product roadmap.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in product management or a related role in the telecoms industry.

  • Technical expertise within telecoms to support product descriptions.

  • Knowledge of every aspect of the product development life cycle.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong experience in a dynamic product management role.

  • Proven success in overseeing all elements of the product development lifecycle.

  • High effectiveness in managing cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to create product development and marketing strategies.

  • Strong leadership and project management skills.

  • In-depth knowledge of the industry and product’s users.

  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, combined with strong presentation and public speaking abilities.

  • Experience in delivering finely tuned product marketing strategies.

  • Ability to analyse complex data to identify market trends and customer behaviour.

  • Demonstrable knowledge of SEM (search engine marketing) and online advertising.
