We are working with an established law firm in the North West is seeking an experienced IT Manager to oversee the delivery of IT support services, ensuring alignment with the firms operational goals and performance targets. This role involves managing daily IT functions, leading projects, and collaborating with IT teams across multiple regional locations to ensure a seamless, high-quality service.
Key Responsibilities
IT Service Delivery:
- Manage and coordinate IT service functions to ensure effective resource deployment and excellent user support across the firms offices.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues in different locations to uphold consistent IT standards and proactively address business needs through innovative IT solutions.
- Monitor systems for performance, capacity, and adherence to service standards, taking corrective action as needed.
- Develop and maintain continuity plans to ensure uninterrupted service during disruptions.
- Represent IT services as a professional and credible function, building strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
Project Management:
- Oversee assigned technical projects, ensuring they are completed on schedule and within resource budgets.
Team Management and Development:
- Lead and develop the IT support team by:
- Recruiting, training, and onboarding new staff.
- Organizing team coverage for uninterrupted service during absences.
- Conducting annual reviews, setting performance standards, and monitoring staff development.
- Identifying and providing training and development opportunities for team members.
- Supporting HR with performance and disciplinary management as needed.
- Pursue personal professional development through relevant courses and seminars.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Act as an IT resource for users across the firm, advising on best practices and maintaining partnerships with vendors and users.
- Ensure availability to support staff with any IT-related inquiries.
- Attend meetings, training, and travel to other firm locations as necessary to support initiatives.
Required Skills and Experience
- Experience with legal sector applications, such as document management, CRM, digital dictation, and case management systems.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems (server and client), Microsoft 365, and Intune (MDM).
- Familiarity with workplace technologies, including AV and room booking systems.
- Understanding of user hardware, including laptops and mobile devices, and diverse work styles.
- Previous supervisory experience with the ability to delegate and manage teams effectively.
- Demonstrated experience in a similar IT management role within a professional environment.
