Location: Home-based (with occasional travel)

Are you a tech-savvy problem solver with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service? We are seeking a Sys Admin to join their dynamic Cloud Hosting team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in local government systems and IT who thrives in a fast-paced, innovative environment.



About the Role

As part of the Government Software division, you will provide high-quality cloud hosting solutions, ensuring service continuity and contributing to excellent customer satisfaction. You'll be a key player in troubleshooting, enhancing service delivery, and maintaining the high standards they uphold.



Key Responsibilities

  • Cloud Application Expertise: Provide expert guidance on deploying and troubleshooting cloud-hosted applications.
  • Customer Onboarding: Collaborate with project teams to onboard new customers effectively.
  • Build Compliance: Maintain system build standards.
  • Incident Resolution: Lead incident management and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Database Administration: Administer and troubleshoot databases, including Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle.
  • Service Desk Collaboration: Work with the service desk to support applications on hosted platforms.
  • Continuous Learning: Keep up to date with the latest technologies through professional development.
  • Security Adherence: Follow their security protocols and policies.


What We're Looking For

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Expertise in back-office and web-based systems, preferably within local government.
  • Passion for technology and a willingness to learn new IT skills.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • Experience in scripting (SQL, PowerShell, Python, VBS).
  • Proficiency in web technologies (Apache, IIS) and relational databases.
  • Understanding of virtualized environments and data centre administration (VMWare).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, particularly in diagnosing and resolving complex issues.

Additional desirable skills:

  • Experience with ITIL environments and helpdesk tools.
  • Basic networking knowledge.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and monitoring tools.
