Role Overview
As a Solution Architect in our clients Technology team, you will play a key role in transforming our business through technology, digital innovation, and automation. You will support a large Safety and Resilience Transformation Programme that addresses several core processes including Health and Safety, Fire Safety, Resilience, Compliance, and Assurance. Your primary responsibility will be to map these processes, identify and align the appropriate IT systems (whether existing or new), and provide the overall architectural assessment and design, ensuring alignment with the overarching technology strategies, or challenging them when necessary.
This role will require close collaboration with various teams and stakeholders to ensure that the solutions implemented meet the desired business outcomes while delivering value across the organisation. You will help develop and maintain a suite of capabilities that promotes productivity, security, compliance, governance, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the architectural assessment and design of IT systems that support Safety and Resilience Transformation Programme processes (Health & Safety, Fire Safety, Compliance, etc.).
• Ensure solutions align with overarching technology end-state strategies, providing challenges where necessary.
• Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, business change managers, development teams (internal/external), and business stakeholders to achieve desired business outcomes.
• Drive the development and maintenance of capabilities to enhance productivity, collaboration, and user experience while ensuring security, compliance, and governance.
• Communicate complex technical information to non-technical business stakeholders, ensuring clarity and alignment with business priorities.
• Provide architecture expertise and guidance to Heads-of-Technology, advising on potential solution sets and opportunities to increase capability.
• Support prioritisation of spend based on technical input, risk, and conflicting business priorities.
Skills & Experience Required
• Proven experience as a Solution Architect in a customer-facing role.
• Strong technical knowledge across enterprise technologies, systems, infrastructure, private/public cloud, and enterprise Health and Safety Management systems.
• Expertise in recognised architecture frameworks and methodologies (e.g., TOGAF).
• Experience designing and implementing core enterprise technologies to support transformation initiatives.
• Ability to interact, influence, and build consensus with senior stakeholders.
• Excellent interpersonal, networking, presentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to business, market, and technical change.
• Commercial awareness and the ability to support decision-making around spend and technical input, with a strong understanding of related risks.
• Experience in delivering solutions that enhance security, compliance, and governance while improving business efficiency.
Desirable Skills & Experience
• Familiarity with the Airport/Aviation Technology landscape, including core processes, applications, and technology requirements.
• Knowledge of enterprise Health and Safety Management systems, including data requirements and major industry trends.
Qualifications
• TOGAF certification or equivalent is highly desirable.
• Relevant degree in IT, Computer Science, or related fields, or equivalent work experience.
