Our client, a global leader in Freight Forwarding is now recruiting for a Trainee Imports Clerk based at Trafford Park
The purpose of the role is to ensure customers receive the very best imports service at all times in connection with cargo en-route and to update customers on any changes to arrival schedules. This may also include advice of charges.

Joining the Import team, the department holds responsibility for the day-to-day processing of Imports documents, costing and billing activities for accounts. The role involves compliance to both Internal & client specific SOP's designed to ensure that agreed service standards and financial compliance are maintained to the highest level on a consistent basis

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS ROLE:

* Using internal Freight Management Systems, Microsoft Packages (Word/Excel/Outlook) & Telephone
* Accurately maintain shipment data/status into Internal Freight Management Systems
* Handling of documents, and upload to appropriate system
* Maintain documentation of internal processes & SOP's
* Internal & External communication to notify of any changes to key data/status
* Review of Exception reports to ensure common data issues/errors are identified & resolved
* Monitor & maintain filing system
* Assist Import department with administration duties

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

* Office experience
* Ideally worked in logistics/freight forwarding experience (not essential)
* Imports freight/logistics exposure/experience
* Computer Literate
* Good telephone and administration skills.
* Education to GCSE level standard or above. Computer literate & Excel competent. On the job/in house training will be provided
