Role: 2nd Line Field Engineer Location: Northwest Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 DoEWorking Pattern: On the road with a base in the Manchester areaThe applicant must have a full UK driving license.This company is actively seeking a 2nd Line Engineer to support their Service Desk team across multiple locations in the Northwest, mainly around Manchester, Chester and Northwich. You will provide support and diagnosis when remote management techniques are ineffective. This role ensures the proper maintenance, auditing, and accountability of IT infrastructure, supporting the technical staff based in New Holland.As a leading timber and builders merchant with hundreds of UK branches, this company relies on a range of devices, including PCs, laptops, tablets, and IoT devices. This requires ongoing management and compliance with software licensing and asset tracking. A mobile, technically skilled engineer is essential for maintaining high service levels, secure systems, and effective IT asset lifecycle management to mitigate financial, security, and productivity risks.Key Responsibilities: * Provide 2nd Line Support within SLA, collaborating closely with 1st and 3rd line support teams.* Manage field-based incidents, projects, and system implementations.* Oversee project and supplier management for site upgrades, telecom installations, and refits.* Administer software asset and licensing management, hardware asset deployment, and recycling.* Support phone, LAN, and WiFi network management and auditing.Key Skills and Requirements * Strong working knowledge of Windows 11 and Microsoft applications.* Understanding of cloud services, particularly Office 365.* Knowledge of major PC hardware components.* Proficient in TCP/IP networking, Wi-Fi technologies, and associated security considerations.* Skilled in the installation, maintenance, and repair of IT hardware and software.* Project management experience with the patience to liaise with BT Openreach and other telecom providers.* Educated to GCSE standard, with 5 A* to C grades, including Maths and English.* Valid UK Full Driving License and the ability to drive.Benefits * This role comes with a company car., which is expensed.To be considered, please send your CV to me now to avoid disappointment.
