2nd Line IT Support Engineer - MSP - Old Trafford/Stretford - £28K-£31K

A 2nd Line IT Support Engineer with good working knowledge of Windows Server, Windows OS, Active Directory and ideally previous MSP is required by a growing IT Managed Services Provider based in Manchester.

With a close-knit team of 10 with the majority being mostly technical staff, this is an ideal role for a 2nd Line IT Support Engineer to join a thriving company with real scope to progress into project-focused role.

Key Skills:

  • Windows OS 11-10 OS, Windows Server 2016+
  • Windows Server
  • Office 365/Exchange
  • Good knowledge of Azure/EntraID
  • Networking - DNS/DHCP, VLANs, TCP/IP
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Full UK Drivers licence - essential

Desirable:

  • Previous MSP experience
  • Virtualisation - VMware/Hyper-V
  • PowerShell

You will continuously be working with the latest tech and getting involved in all aspects of the job which include the following:

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Provide 2nd line support for all customers via phone, email or face-to-face
  • Provide an escalation point for 1st line colleagues.
  • Following in-depth diagnosis, escalate to 3rd line when necessary
  • Log all incidents and requests within the agreed service desk work management system.
  • Manage, prioritise and plan own work queue and deal with calls within the set SLAs.
  • Identify and drive through opportunities for improvement/change via the Service Improvement.
