Overview:

We are now looking for an eager candidate to join us as an apprentice.

Salary: £23,114 per annum.

Duties:

In this role you’ll:

  • Work towards a Level 3 qualification in an IT related subject
  • Support the IT Team to provide assistance and advice to staff and students
  • Maintain hardware and software used by staff and pupils;
  • Assist and inform about the use of IT within the academy as required
  • Ensure equipment is set up for lessons and other educational activities
  • Learn about supporting a modern cloud based educational IT environment and gain relevant qualifications. e.g. Google Educator Level 1

What we are looking for:

Desired skills and qualities: 

  • Good communication skills to share information on IT related issues with staff and students
  • The ability to achieve objectives complete tasks to deadlines
  • Experience of following and working to instructions, schedules and procedures
  • Experience of keeping basic records
  • An innovative approach and high energy levels
  • Awareness of potential health and safety risks and issues working with computers and electrical equipment

A willingness to undertake NVQ level 3 in IT or equivalent (NVQ Level 3 in IT or equivalent is desirable)

Qualities: [you’ll be:] 

  • Enthusiastic, action orientated and adaptable
  • Able to use your judgement to solve straightforward problems to support the operation of computers and networks

Entry Requirements:

  • 3 GCSE's (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
