We're working with a growing and people-focused IT Managed Service Provider based in Manchester to find a client-focused IT Support Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity to join a company that prioritises service excellence, career development, and long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide responsive and professional support to clients, ensuring high-quality service in line with SLAs.
- Log, research, and resolve customer queries and change requests efficiently.
- Handle escalated issues where necessary and ensure smooth delivery of support services.
- Oversee support systems to maintain continuity and performance.
- Test, review, and document systems prior to deployment.
- Build trusted relationships with clients and offer tailored support and advice.
- Assist with system configuration based on specific client requirements.
- Collaborate with the management team to enhance delivery and support processes.
- Produce clear and user-friendly How-To guides for clients.
- Support project work such as report generation, data migration, and documentation.
- Occasional travel and overnight stays may be required.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a client-facing IT support role (ideally within the SME sector).
- Proficient with desktop operating systems (Windows 711, Mac OS).
- Solid experience with Windows Server (20082022), including Active Directory, DHCP, DNS.
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and Intune.
- Familiar with Microsoft Exchange and common antivirus/antimalware solutions.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi).
- Support experience with mobile devices (iPhone, iPad, Android).
- Hands-on with RMM tools and comfortable with PC/laptop hardware support.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-first approach.
- Proactive, resilient, and able to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable Skills:
- Exposure to ERP systems or cyber security platforms.
- Background working in an MSP environment.
- Familiarity with Mac/Apple support.
- UK Driving Licence and flexibility for occasional travel.
- A professional appearance and commercial awareness are advantageous.
