IT Support Engineer

We're working with a growing and people-focused IT Managed Service Provider based in Manchester to find a client-focused IT Support Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity to join a company that prioritises service excellence, career development, and long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide responsive and professional support to clients, ensuring high-quality service in line with SLAs.
  • Log, research, and resolve customer queries and change requests efficiently.
  • Handle escalated issues where necessary and ensure smooth delivery of support services.
  • Oversee support systems to maintain continuity and performance.
  • Test, review, and document systems prior to deployment.
  • Build trusted relationships with clients and offer tailored support and advice.
  • Assist with system configuration based on specific client requirements.
  • Collaborate with the management team to enhance delivery and support processes.
  • Produce clear and user-friendly How-To guides for clients.
  • Support project work such as report generation, data migration, and documentation.
  • Occasional travel and overnight stays may be required.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a client-facing IT support role (ideally within the SME sector).
  • Proficient with desktop operating systems (Windows 711, Mac OS).
  • Solid experience with Windows Server (20082022), including Active Directory, DHCP, DNS.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and Intune.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Exchange and common antivirus/antimalware solutions.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi).
  • Support experience with mobile devices (iPhone, iPad, Android).
  • Hands-on with RMM tools and comfortable with PC/laptop hardware support.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-first approach.
  • Proactive, resilient, and able to adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable Skills:

  • Exposure to ERP systems or cyber security platforms.
  • Background working in an MSP environment.
  • Familiarity with Mac/Apple support.
  • UK Driving Licence and flexibility for occasional travel.
  • A professional appearance and commercial awareness are advantageous.
