We are working with a long-standing client of ours based in Wythenshawe who are experts in the aviation industry who are looking for an Assembly Supervisor.

The Job

  • Lead the Assembly team to achieve manufacturing targets and co-ordinate Production Control/performance data, monitoring and reporting requirements.
  • Plan and control production of components/assemblies.
  • Allocate staff and equipment resources to meet demand, maximising efficiencies and minimising cost; delegating as appropriate to team members.
  • Carry out daily/weekly section team briefings and foster team engagement
  • Manage line-side stores, material picking/packaging and labelling requirements as required; liaising with Interiors stores to plan materials issue; and implement regular PI counts/stock control.
  • Advise in the development and production of all new and repair components, ensuring manufacturing data is fed back to planning and quality procedures/systems are adhered to.
  • To be highly proficient in use of the company ERP system.
  • Carry out team appraisals; and in conjunction with Manufacturing Unit Manager, implement and record competency training matrices/databases and individual training/development plans for all Manufacturing staff.
  • Monitor staff output performance, measured against set targets, for all operations; and review skills, competencies and knowledge.

About you

  • Proven skills in managing people 
  • Candidate must be able to demonstrate experience in using a variety of engineering
  • equipment and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and apply instructions correctly to achieve required product quality.
  • Experience on ERP Systems
  • Familiar with a Workshop/Assembly environment
  • Experience of using hand and power tools
  • To be able to work flexibly and to achieve timescales/targets.
  • To be flexible towards hours of work and carry out overtime during busy periods
