ROLE OVERVIEW:
The Mechanical Fitter is responsible for performing the initial strip down, assembly, and fitting of mechanical assemblies according to manufacturing standards, technical drawings, and documentation. This role ensures that mechanical systems and components are assembled correctly, adhering to quality and safety standards, while also assisting with any other tasks as required by the business and supervisors.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Health and Safety Compliance:
Ensure that all work is carried out in compliance with the Companys Health and Safety Policy. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following established safety protocols and best practices.
Actively participate in safety audits and implement improvements where necessary. Mechanical Assembly and Fitting:
Perform assembly, fitting, and alignment of mechanical components according to engineering drawings and specifications.
Strip down and reassemble equipment as required, ensuring that all work is carried out to the highest standards.
Adhere to route card disciplines, processes, and procedures during all tasks.
Documentation and Record Keeping:
Accurately complete route cards, operations history sheets, and other relevant documentation in line with company procedures.
Maintain clear, precise records of all work performed, including details on components, repairs, and processes followed.
Ensure quality documentation is completed and verified in compliance with production and quality standards.
Quality Assurance:
Perform quality checks on completed work to ensure adherence to specified tolerances and operational standards.
Ensure both the physical work and written documentation meet company quality standards. Identify and report any quality issues or discrepancies in the manufacturing process, contributing to corrective actions when necessary.
Process Improvement:
Actively seek ways to improve mechanical fitting processes, offering suggestions to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, collaborating with teams to optimize production and operational workflows.
Versatility and Flexibility:
Perform additional duties in line with the employees skills matrix, including but not limited to paint, polycoat, flow solder, and other processes essential to product manufacturing.
Exhibit a positive and flexible attitude, working collaboratively with the team to achieve production goals.
Team Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with production, maintenance, and quality control teams to ensure seamless operations and project timelines are met.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure any issues or delays are addressed promptly.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
*APPROVED TIME SERVED CRAFT OR TECHNICAL APPRENTICESHIP OR
EQUIVALENT NVQ QUALIFICATION*
Good all-round Mechanical fitting skills and experience
To be conversant in reading and application of Mechanical Drawing requirements
To be skilled and conversant in the use of hand and conventional machine tools
To be knowledgeable in the health and safety requirements of a shop floor environment.

Competitive Salary: Starting: £27,000-£30,000 (Depending on experience)
