This growing electrical engineering repairs business is seeking an experienced Electrical Fitter with rotating equipment repairs experience. You will report into the Electrical Services Manager. The role will mainly involve repairing gearboxes, electrical motors, seals and alternators both in the repairs workshop and on site The company provides a complete turnkey fault-find, repair and manufacture service for a wide range of clients. Duties will involve: -

  • In-depth knowledge and experience of repairing electrical rotating equipment.
  • A key part of the role is to provide rostered out-of-hours cover which attracts generous remuneration.
  • Experience in dismantling a wide range of motors (including AC & DC), brake motors, gearboxes, pumps, fan units, and experience with static and dynamic testing.
  • Testing and repair of transformers.
  • Identifying and repairing any faults found.
  • Re-assembly and testing of equipment following repair
  • Working with motor voltages up to 415 Volts and test voltages up to 2Kv
  • Dealing with technical issues which may arise
  • Attending site to test and analyse motors and generators in use using standard industry equipment and determining faults and repair action required
  • Experience working with alternators and fault finding preferable not essential
  • The ability to detail and wind armatures, stators and rotors would be ideal but not essential

To apply you must have: -

  • Commercial Electrical fitter experience in rotating equipment in a workshop environment is essential 
  • Winding experience would be ideal but not essential
  • City & guilds or times serviced experience
  • Must be able to be on-call (one in fourr with extra pay for this)
  • Driving licence
