Our client is a leading engineering business that currently require a Senior Instrument Engineer to support on a variety of projects in energy, oil & gas and Nuclear.  Lead Engineer working on a client facing projects. You will be involved in concept studies through to detailed design, providing a variety of interesting work.

  • Within this role, your responsibilities will involve:
    Responsibility for instrument discipline technical input for projects and/or proposals; including preparation, checking and/or approval of engineering documentation
  • Organising, supporting and mentoring your team, allocating work and ensuring delivery against plan
  • Preparing scopes of work and delivering high-quality control and instrumentation (C&I) engineering tasks to schedule, budget and client satisfaction, working with our supply chain
  • Ensuring all applicable national and international codes of practice, legislation and company/client standards and procedures are complied with

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Degree in relevant engineering discipline (e.g. Electronic / Electrical / Control Engineering)
  • Apprenticeships may be considered Chartered or Incorporated engineer status with a relevant professional body or evidence of working towards gaining these professional titles
  • Good knowledge of design working practices and installation requirements of the discipline across a range of industries.
  • >10 years engineering experience in the Oil & Gas, Nuclear and/or Water sectors
  • Knowledge of UK legislation and standards Knowledge in the requirements for installation of equipment in process plants involving potentially explosive areas
  • Experience in the requirements for CE marking of plant and equipment, including ATEX, PED, Low Voltage Directive, Machinery Directive and EMC Compliance Awareness of risk identification, quantification, management and of HSE requirements
