Our client are one of the fastest growing insurers in the UK, a Norwegian based company who expanded to the UK in 2015 and have grown rapidly in the last 8 years. With rapid growth comes great opportunity for the right people. Therefore, we are looking to recruit highly motivated graduates to join their team as an Underwriter/Analyst to work at their head office in Manchester.

Their client base covers both private sector and public sector and includes some of the largest organisations in the UK. This offers the right people great exposure to key stakeholders across a broad range of sectors and industries. The role as an Underwriter/Analyst involves being at the heart of the risk selection process and risk selection is one of the biggest influences on the company’s profitability. Therefore, if you are someone who likes responsibility, takes pride in being diligent and wants to have a direct impact on a companies results then this is a great role for you.

You will be presented with a broad range of challenging and exciting tasks across Property, Casualty, and Motor Fleet insurance. This will combine analysing data, presenting key conclusions, and participating in several operational projects across the business in the UK and overseas. While analytical competence is required, the insurance industry still relies on building unique relationships both internally and externally to develop new opportunities and retain existing clients. Candidates who would relish the opportunity to split their time between analysing data, building relationships and delivering on our quality service offering will be best suited to this diverse role.

Prior insurance experience is not a prerequisite as this role will include a structured training programme including support in attaining professional insurance qualifications. In conjunction with your training programme, you will gain underwriting experience from day one and develop very quickly to expand your technical competence. The foundations you build in this programme will enable you to forge a successful career in an exciting professional financial industry.

To be considered for this exciting and challenging role, candidates must want to work in an environment where open and direct communication is key and learning capacity will be challenged continuously. This role will be suited to a graduate calibre (or equivalent) candidate looking to enter the insurance industry with a strong academic background from Business, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Civic Engineering or similar quantitative disciplines. You will preferably have a Master's degree, but candidates with Bachelor degrees will be equally considered if you are the right candidate.
