Role Summary

Investigating and effectively handling a portfolio of Marine and Casualty claims under broad supervision. Working within authority on assignments of moderate technical complexity.

Key Responsibilities

Interpreting policy coverages, escalating issues as needed.
Setting activities and reserves and authorising payments within scope of authority, settling claims in the most cost effective and timely manner.
Participating in performing investigations and evaluating claims through contact with insureds, insureds, claimants, witnesses and experts.
Partnering with legal counsel, account representatives, brokers, underwriters and insureds to develop a focused strategy for timely and cost effective resolution of claims.
Developing and maintaining strong broker relationships.
Analysing claims activities and preparing reports for management review.

Key Requirements

Previous experience of handling Marine and/or Casualty claims.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, able to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external business partners.
