Focus of the Senior Investment Manager - Debt Fund - Manchester role:
This is a fantastic opportunity to join our client鈥檚 Northern based Debt team, within this newly created role.
The Senior Investment Manager ("SIM") will be required to:-
路 The SIM will have ownership and understanding of their given fund and can articulate a delivery plan to meet the needs of the market and deliver the targets of the fund.
路 The SIM will require extensive awareness and understanding of the region as well as willingness to operate across the region to access the key business networks and originate investment opportunities in the SME market.
路 With the company鈥檚 wider geography, the SIM will be expected to strategically support the business across the whole region.
路 The SIM will manage the distribution of enquiries across the fund IMs whilst also managing their own delivery pipeline and attend face to face meetings with applicants to determine their needs and identify the right product to meet their goals.
路 Identify, obtain, and support the collection and processing of all necessary information to enable a full appraisal of each proposition to be undertaken in line with the investment operating guidelines of the fund.
路 The SIM would be expected to support the structuring and appraisal of investment opportunities in the wider fund team, leveraging their experience.
路 Through effective deal management and use of internal network, manage the end-to-end process for debt transactions.
路 Management of the full debt lifecycle required including; origination, structuring, negotiating, delivery and relevant support to the portfolio team during the repayment phase.
路 Analyse statutory accounts, management accounts and financial projections for risk, completing a financial analysis sheet and undertake appropriate internal due diligence.
路 The SIM will own the preparation of appraisals for investment committee and will be confident at producing and presenting any proposal in a concise manner.
路 Appropriately raise cases for discussion with leadership and /or the key stakeholders on the deal team.
路 The SIM will be expected to produce fund level reports and contribute to Investor meetings.
路 The SIM will have management responsibilities for an Investment Associate who will support the fund delivery. The SIM will be comfortable developing the Associate and delegating fund duties accordingly.
Responsibilities of the Senior Investment Manager - Debt Fund - Manchester role:
路 Management of the regular information flow from clients and subsequent analysis, interpretation, and critique of financial and commercial aspects including the identification of deteriorating risk trends and recommendation of appropriate provisions.
路 Ensuring the timely receipt of management accounts; holding regular client meetings; and ensuring ongoing compliance with the loan agreements for each portfolio company including performance against forecasts, conditions subsequent and agreed covenants.
路 Critique and challenge of business plans, due diligence and ad hoc financial information that may be required as part of an existing client dialogue.
路 Post-investment monitoring of the loan investments, including exit management.
路 Making regular reports and reviews to the Portfolio Director or Fund Principal and contributing to investor reporting requirements as appropriate.
路 Ensuring that all regulatory and compliance matters are acted upon.
路 Keeping the portfolio risk management and CRM system regularly updated.
路 Supporting internal and external audits together with the annual financial audit process.
路 Assisting with the preparation of quarterly reporting (written and financial analysis) to investors as to the financial performance of clients, and in turn our funds under management
路 Contributing to monthly presentations internally within the organisation and externally with investors as to the client portfolio, discussing key matters arising, trading performance and presenting key information.
路 Input into fund management accounting and treasury matters associated with loan/investment activity.
路 Other ad hoc assignments and workstreams as required in a growing business.
Skills of the Senior Investment Manager - Debt Fund - Manchester role:
The ideal candidate will have:
路 Experience working in SME/Corporate finance environment and strong understanding of business funding.
路 Debt transaction and loan assessment experience ideally within a banking or similar corporate finance environment is preferred.
路 Possess the necessary credit skills to analyse businesses and loan requests to identify key issues and develop appropriate solutions.
路 Strong relationship skills including the ability to convey and explain information coherently in both oral and written formats
路 Ability to adapt to a variety of tasks.
路 Flexibility to travel as required to other offices and/or events in the NW region.
路 Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
路 Ambitious and hard-working self-starter
路 Out-going and sociable
