About the Role
A leading UK land promoter is seeking talented and ambitious Graduate Town Planners to join their dynamic team. This is an exceptional opportunity for graduates with an RTPI-accredited degree - or those nearing completion - to launch their planning career within a well-established and successful business. Applications from Human Geography graduates willing to undertake a part-time Master's degree in Planning are also welcome.
As a Graduate Town Planner, you will be part of an experienced in-house team, working on a nationwide portfolio of projects. You will receive full support and development opportunities to progress within the role and be rewarded with further career growth.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will support the planning team in progressing sites through the planning application and Local Plan promotion process. Your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting research to support planning applications and site promotions, including policy analysis, settlement assessments, and socio-economic impact evaluations.
Assisting in the assessment of potential development sites, working closely with the Land team to secure new opportunities.
Contributing to master planning and site design.
Attending meetings and interviews with landowners and agents to help secure new sites.
Monitoring planning applications and changes in both local and national planning policies.
Supporting the preparation of representations for Local and Neighbourhood Plan consultations.
Managing company data related to Local Authorities.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you will need:
A degree-level qualification in an RTPI-accredited course, or a Human Geography degree with a commitment to studying a part-time Master's in Planning.
Strong research skills, with the ability to problem-solve and work independently.
Excellent IT literacy.
Effective communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Adaptability to changing circumstances and the ability to think creatively in response to challenges.
A motivated approach to learning and career development.
The ability to work collaboratively and professionally to support an inclusive and dynamic workplace.
Desirable but not essential skills include experience with GIS, Photoshop, AutoCAD, and Illustrator.
