Principal Town PlannerManchester - Hybrid / Remote options

My client is a UK leading Multidisciplinary Consultancy who are passionate about shaping the future of cities, infrastructure, and communities. As part of a global leader in engineering and design consultancy, their Manchester office is looking for a Principal Town Planner to join the dynamic and growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on diverse and impactful projects that make a real difference!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage planning projects from inception through to completion, delivering high-quality results for a variety of clients.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on all aspects of planning policy, urban design, and land use.
  • Work closely with clients, local authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Prepare and submit planning applications, appeals, and policy documents.
  • Support and mentor junior planners, helping to foster their professional development.
  • Contribute to business development activities, including identifying opportunities and writing proposals.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • MRTPI (Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute) or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Extensive experience in town planning at Senior or Principal level.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering planning projects.
  • Strong knowledge of UK planning law and policies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with clients and stakeholders at all levels.
