The Role
As a Planner, you will play a key role in delivering planning applications, strategy development, and client engagement. Working closely with senior colleagues, you will contribute to a variety of projects across residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. This role offers fantastic career development, with structured training and support towards RTPI accreditation.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting site research and translating findings into clear written reports
- Reviewing planning policy and history to inform project strategies
- Preparing project updates and client communications with minimal supervision
- Leading on minor planning applications, including liaising with design and technical teams
- Monitoring applications and managing deadlines proactively
- Preparing social media content and project materials for marketing purposes
- Assisting with business development activities and professional networking
About You
- A master's degree in Town Planning, Geography, Environmental Science, or a related field
- At least two years of planning experience within a consultancy or local authority
- Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to provide well-structured advice
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines effectively
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with Adobe Creative Suite skills being an advantage
- A proactive mindset, with a keen interest in professional development and networking
- Associate membership of the RTPI, with a commitment to achieving full accreditation
